HEALTHY COOKWARES

There are numerous gifts in nature. It will be valuable if we live a natural life. using clay or earthenware (Mitti Kay Bartan) brings us one step closer to nature.

Clay

The component of soil is clay. It was employed in numerous ancient cultures for various domestic uses. According to Wikipedia, clay is a natural plastic found in alkaline soil. These are clay's characteristics.

Alkaline

All of the foods and beverages fall somewhere between an acidic and an alkaline range. Cucumber is alkaline, while lemon is acidic. Earthenware is alkaline, including clay.

Plasticity

Since clays are plastic, any shape may be created by molding them. Pottery is created by mixing clay with water and taking various forms.

 existence

The basic layer of the earth is clay, and it may be found practically everywhere. In essence, clay reformation from progressively chemical rocks requires time. The soil contains clay, which is present in large quantities on earth.

key benefits of Clay

Because clay is naturally alkaline, it lowers the acidity level of victuals (food and drink) when it is used for cooking, drinking, and storing. cooking in a clay pot causes the utensils to circulate steam. Food cooked in a clay pot is moist. Oil usage decreases as more steam is circulated while cooking. clay pottery results in less evaporation rate and the food are cooked deeply and tastier as compared to cooking with metal utensils.

Microscopic holes in clay allow for evaporation and make clay heat resistant. Water that is stored and consumed in clay containers will be naturally cold. Such water is beneficial for sensitive throats and supports the heart's normal operation.

The extra minerals are attempted to be absorbed by clay or earthen utensils, which also replenish any missing minerals in the food.

Impairments of Clay Utensil

Clay has a lot of benefits but very few, unnoticeable drawbacks.

As clay resists heat, cooking in clay pots takes a long time.Because clay pots have microscopic holes where previously cooked food particles could get lodged and impact the flavour of the food being cooked at the time, using clay pots for cooking may have an adverse effect on the taste of the food.

With continued use, clay or earthenware pottery may develop cracks. If sufficient seasoning is done before the initial cooking or usage and safeguards are maintained, this cracking can be prevented from the start.

Preservation

The right seasoning must be applied before the initial cooking.  A well-baked

clay object should be immersed in water for a few hours before being allowed to dry out completely. After drying, the interior bottom of the utensil should be massaged with edible oil using only your bare hands.

The clay utensil can then be filled with water and heated until the water reaches the boiling point. Clay impurities will be removed by this boiling water procedure.

Precaution

Clayware should not be left empty and set on the heat before use because it may begin to break. It should contain either food or water.

Never put a heated clay object in water or on a cool surface. As it could also cause cracking. Clay is porous and will absorb chemicals, so try to avoid washing clay tools with soap or detergent. Try to scrub it with a brush and hot water.

Nature truly is man's best friend.
